Kate Leth, On Moving Away From Licensed Comics Because Too Many "Can't Actually Be Gay"

At Thought Bubble in Leeds in 2015, comic creator Kate Leth told the audience that,

it was never her thing to make queer comics for kids, as a writer she was more interested in writing about depression – and got hired to write kids comics as a result. So people know what they are getting – and she forewarns them that not everyone is going to be white and not everyone is going to be straight.

It seems that some people just don't get the hint. Kate Leth has been talking about her future plans on Twitter.

She did want to clarify,

Though she is promised they are coming for Patsy Walker AKA Hellcat. I believe Marvel prefers to call them incentive payments.

As to the issue at hand regarding publisher's expectations, writer Gail Simone replied,
