Kevin Smith Will Slob Disney's Knob For Bedknobs and Broomsticks Reboot Job

In a shockingly honest glimpse into the seedy world of filmmaking, Clerks director Kevin Smith has publicly offered sexual favors in exchange for an opportunity to reboot the classic film Bedknobs and Broomsticks, according to a report from ScreenRant, who didn't have the guts or foresight to put a blowjob reference in their headline. Smith, speaking on his Fatman on Batman podcast, reportedly said:

Bedknobs and Broomsticks can be remade today. That movie can so f–king work today. In a world where Disney's like, 'Pete's Dragon!' and sh-t like that… Hey! I will f–king s-ck d-ck Disney to make the remake of Bedknobs and Broomsticks.

Originally released in 1971, Bedknobs and Broomsticks starred sex symbols Angela Lansbury and David Tomlinson and is most often remembered for not being as good as Mary Poppins, the 1964 film that starred Julie Andrews and Rich Johnston, though that is admittedly a very tough act to follow. Both films mixed live action with animation, though Poppins featured by far the more memorable musical dance numbers.

It should be noted that, just as with Lin-Manuel Miranda's desire to play Carnage in a Maximum Carnage film, Smith's interest in helming a Bedknobs reboot doesn't mean Disney is actually working on one, especially since Warner Bros just made a Bedknobs reboot in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Then again, we can probably assume that Hollywood is looking to reboot any past successful film in existence, so there's at least a grain of truth in that rumor.
