DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1

The 96-page "Prestige Format" one-shot "features DC's biggest and brightest heroes celebrating the holiday season" with stories by a diverse roster of artists, including James Tynion IV, Steve Orlando, Vita Ayala, Cullen Bunn, Tim Seeley, James Asmus, Heath Corson, Gustavo Duarte and Dustin Nguyen.

With stories that span the spectrum of holiday traditions, the one-off finds Batwoman celebrating Hanukah, Flash having a family Christmas and Wonder Woman hanging out at Constantine's "hellblazing pagan party." There's even an appearance from the deerstalker-wearing simian Detective Chimp, who we last saw in Jeff Lemire's "Justice League United" #16.

The various stories in the "Holiday" anthology are connected by a Harley Quinn story that features even more DCU guests. The framing narrative is written by New York Times bestselling writer Paul Dini; a former "Batman: The Animated Series" writer, Dini penned the critically acclaimed "Dark Night: A True Batman Story," a memoir in graphic novel form illustrated by Eduardo Rissi.

"DC Rebirth Holiday Special #1" goes on sale December 14.

Supergirl: Being Super will be a four-issue series written by Mariko Tamaki, whose coming-of-age drama This One Summer, illustrated by her cousin Jillian Tamaki, won both Ignatz and Eisner awards for best graphic novel, as well as a Printz Award and Randolph Caldecott Medal in 2015. Art on the series will come from Eisner Award nominee Joelle Jones, co-creator of the fan-favorite Lady Killer and Helheim series, with Sandu Florea and Kelly Fitzpatrick on inks and colors, respectively. Set outside of regular continuity, the series will offer an updated take on Kara Zor-El's earliest days on Earth.
