Southern Bastards' Confederate Flag Cover Raises $18,000 For Mother Emanuel Hope Fund

unnamed (19)It was born out of rage and frustration. The variant cover created by Southern Bastards' artist Jason Latour in the wake of the Charleston, South Carolina shooting.

After being offered to retailers and readers, Image Comics has announced that as a result of the cover, $18,000 was donated to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund. The fund provides direct financial support for the funeral and burial expenses of the nine victims of the murders, with anything else going to the AME Church.
