The Justice League Agrees The Role Of God In Today's DC Comics

The original title for the Justice League Darkseid War spinoff titles was Gods And Monsters, tying into the animated title. But then it was changed to, simply, The Darkseid War.

Which is a shame because the previous title was far more apopro. In previous weeks, we saw Batman confront Joe Chill as he turned Gotham into a crime free oppressive state, while Flash tried to outrace death, both coming to terms with godhood in very different ways.

In this week we see two books, Justice League: Darkseid War: Shazam seeing his connection to the gods severed and new gods taking their place. But is he their servant or master? He sets it out.

While over in Justice League: Darkseid War: Green Lantern, the young Hal Jordan gets a very similar revelation…

IMG_0014If it's God's job to believe in us, it's God's duty to worship us, it does rather put the boot on the other foot. So there's no point in being an atheist in the DC Universe, but maybe at least you get the chance to be top dog instead.
