Starships Is The New Strategy Game From Sid Meier

Sid Meier's name has been attached to some of the best strategy games of all time. The studio that bears his name, Firaxis, are the gatekeepers of the Civilization franchise which has been guilty of stealing thousands of hours from players. I know I'm one of those.

Building on its library, the studio has today announced its next strategy game, Sid Meier's Starships. The PC and iOS game was announced at Gamespot and is set to launch in "early in 2015". The objective of the title is to journey through space controlling your fleet as you complete missions expanding your federation's influence. You'll protect planets and inhabitants while also getting involved in turn based combat.

I am a little worried that there is no gameplay footage for a game set to come out in just a little while, but the concept sounds great and Firaxis involvement is more than enough get me interested. I'll update you as I find out more.
