Image Comics Wins Publisher Of The Year At Diamond Awards

Here are the full results of the Diamond Comic Distributors 2013 Diamond Gem Awards (find the full list of nominees here) as voted on by comic book retailers. With Image beating back the traditional winners of the Publisher Of The Year (over 4% marketshare) Marvel and DC.

Image also grabbed Best New Comic Book Series for East of West and Best Free Comic Book Day book for The Walking Dead Special.

DC took six awards over all with Top Dollar Comic of the Year for Superman Unchained #1 and Backlist Publisher of the Year, with Dark Horse Comics close behind on five for Licensed Comic of the Year for The Star Wars: Lucas Draft #1 and Original Graphic Novel of the Year for Hellboy: The Midnight Circus HC.

Marvel Comics grabbed a lowly two with Top Dollar Comic Book Publisher of the Year and for Comic Book of the Year (Over $3.00) for Superior Spider-Man #1
