Two Comic Book Events For Hurricane Sandy Victims

Hurricane Sandy has affected much of the comic industry. But now it seems the comics industry is fighting back.

Rich Ginter has been contacting artists to donate art as part of an Art For Sandy Relief program running on eBay, to fund local charities, including the Steven Siller Tunnels to Towers foundation. Artists and art owners have been contributing pieces including work by Tommy Lee Edwards, John Paul Leon, Paolo Rivera and many more.

And this weekend The Superheroes For Hospice Charity Comic Book Sale taking place at the Barnabas Health Corporate Office, West Orange wil run a new Hurricane Sandy initiative, "Give A Can, Get A Comic".

Those attending on the Saturday will be encouraged to donate a can or package of non-perishable food in exchange for a free comic book. Each food item will be donated to Last Resort Emergency Food Pantry, affiliated with the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties in Asbury Park, New Jersey – an area particularly hard-hit by Hurricane Sandy. Up to five food items per person with expiration dates no older than 2013 will be accepted.
