Mark Millar Has Seen The Pre-Viz For Kick-Ass 2's Big Fights And Wants You To Know All About Them

Mild spoilers ahoy! The following article contains some details about fights in Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, including the final battle of the film. Mark Millar Has Seen The Pre-Viz For Kick-Ass 2's Big Fights And Wants You To Know All About ThemPre-production for Jeff Wadlow's Kick-Ass 2, which begins filming on September 10th and is set for a June 2013 release, is already well underway, and comic book creator Mark Millar has just posted an excited response to the pre-visualisations for some of the fights and stunts in the film.

In a post over at the Millarworld forums, Millar gave details about his two favourite fight scenes, as put together roughly using stunt-people and cut with temporary music.

[I'm] torn between the Hit-Girl and Mother Russia fight and the scene with Hit-Girl fighting the super-villains on the roof of the moving van. Both are just mind-blowing. But the Mother Russia fight is going to be one of the most brutal and epic battles in cinema. Think how good Mindy is and then multiply it to 300 pounds of female muscle just pounding her and using every weapon you can imagine in the midst of that big final battle.

This looks amazing with the stunt team and a temp. Imagine what it's going to look like with the actors, Jeff's direction, Eddie [Hamilton]'s edits and a final soundtrack. I'm really, really excited.

Mother Russia is a character who was introduced in the most recent series of Kick-Ass comics: a tall, muscular, tattooed lady who plays bodyguard to Chris D'Amico AKA Red Mist AKA Motherfucker. If the role's been cast then they're keeping quiet about it, but the casting call that went out a while ago gave the following character description:

An ex-KBG officer who is now being paid by the week by Chris to fight in his group — she is easily the most skilled and just a ruthless killer in general. Described as a 'roided-out female bodybuilder, she needs to be extremely physically imposing and muscular, though still come across as feminine. As tall as possible (6ft and over only).

Millar also stated that his favourite costume design so far is "the Colonel's dog. A big dog in a mask." Universal are currently trying to get Jim Carrey for the role of the Colonel himself.
