Could Little Death Be The Next Cult Comic Hit?

Could Little Death Be The Next Cult Comic Hit?John Anderson lives round the corner from my house. Literally five minutes away. It's also the home for his comic book publisher Soaring Penguin Press.

We bumped into each other on the way into Kapow at the weekend and he told m a story. About finding a comic vending machine in Germany. About buying a comic there which made him laugh so much that he called up the publisher asking for English language rights. That they were surprised to receive a call. That he's signed the deal and is bringing Little Death out later this year. He then showed me samples.

And he's right, it's brilliant.

"English language rights" is a bit of a cheek however, as there are about three words in the whole thing. But that's what he's got. And I see it as a perfect Hallowe'en gift for, well, anyone. Big or small, young or old, male or female, whether of not they like comics.

And if you get the gag that the French for "Little Death" is a euphemism for an orgasm, then even better.

There's a knock at the door. You fear the worst. It's Little Death. But is he here for you – or your cat? Thomas Kriebaum's little man in the black suit is the ultimate travelling salesman: all deals are final. His dissatisfaction with his vocation is the source of our amusement!

Little Death will be in the next Diamond Previews catalogue withe the code JUN121284. I think this has the potential to be a massive cult hit. Why not get on board early?
