WonderWatch: Women Of Wonder Day is taking contributions. So far the event has raised over $110,000 for Domestic Violence programs in Portland, Oregon and Flemington, NJ.

This year, events will be held at Excalibur Books in Portland, Oregon, Comic Fusion in Flemington, New Jersey, as  Heroes and Fantasies in San Antonio, Texas.

Comics and art are sought to be sold and auctioned including "female-empowerment characters from any realms of media. This can include comic book characters such as Wonder Woman, Lois Lane, She-Hulk, Storm, Michonne from Walking Dead, Witchblade, Leetah from ElfQuest, or others. It can include media characters such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ripley from Aliens, Marge Simpson, Princess Leia, Sookie Stackhouse, Hermione Granger, or others."

Brothers Uel and Jeff Carter took over Comic Relief's space at 2026 Shattuck Ave. with comic book creator Erik Larsen and started Fantastic Comics in May.

About three miles away, at 3090 Claremont Ave., Jack Rems purchased the entire inventory of Comic Relief and opened The Escapist Comic Bookstore in March next door to his Dark Carnival Bookstore, which he also owns.

"Berkeley seems to have always had a little civil war of comic bookstores, but I think us both being here helps each other," Rems said. "Just as if there were only one bookstore in Berkeley, it would be really sad if there was just one comic bookstore here."

Captain America and Thor Team Up on The Avengers Set | Superhero Hype

The action on The Avengers set continued today in Cleveland with Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) taking on motion capture actors. The local fans are out in droves again capturing the filming with their phones and cameras and you can view some of it below.
