Meet the new DC Super Pets, Lunar Moon and Sprightly Steve.
Or Luna and Steve as they are known to nine-year-old owner Chloe Nyberg, who entered a competition, writing a Daily Planet superhero news story about her dogs. Luna with the power of super-smelling and Steve with his bouncing abilities, saving 26 children from certain doom in a brush fire in Metropolis. Here’s a snippet.
“After smelling the danger, a beagle named Luna transformed into Luna Moon, the incredible hound with the super-sniffing nose. Luna knew she needed to get there fast, so she called on her friend Steve the pom-chi, who then became Sprightly Steve, the super pooch with lightning speed.
“Luna Moon jumped on Sprightly Steve’s back and off they went as quick as a flash. Luna Moon was able to sniff out the exact location of the trapped children and they were rescued in seconds with no injuries.”
This will now be adapted into a children’s book for January 2012 publication, drawn by Art Baltazar alongside Krypto, Ace the Bat-Hound and the rest of the gang.
