French Comic Staff Get Jobs Back, Call Off Strike

French Comic Staff Get Jobs Back, Call Off StrikeBleeding Cool has covered the strike at French comics publisher L'Association, supported by the people who originally founded the company, and the picket at Angouleme that caused a lot of public awareness. There were many complaints against the company, specifically structural and financial decisions made by editorial director JC Menu, and the staff made redundant.

As of yesterday, the strike has been called off and jobs reinstated. There will be a new L'Association general assembly (the first in at least four years) to choose a new direction for the company.

Time for a sing song.

Look 'round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.

Then raise the scarlet standard high.
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
