Why Buying Stuff For A Significant Geek Is Hard

Why Buying Stuff For A Significant Geek Is HardMy wife once bought me Dave McKean's Cages from Gosh Comics. I was so so happy, I hadn't a clue, I didn't know she even knew I wanted it. She wasn't my wife then but she was pretty soon after, I saw to that.

However the art of buying a gift for a geek significant other can be dangerous.

Take this eBay listing for the hardcover version of Prince Of Stories – The Many Worlds Of Neil Gaiman by Steve Bisette, Hank Wagner and Christopher Golden. The listing reads;

This is a new book that was a misguided gift for my husband.

It's new and unread and a whole lot cheaper than I paid for it.  The price quoted is cheaper than some softback versions being sold on ebay.

I'm also selling another book 1001 Nights of Snowfall if anyone is interested.  I think maybe next time I'll give him socks!!!

So what was the issue? We may never know. But can we suggest those socks have Superman emblems on them? Nice.
