"Ring Of Elysium" 2019 Amazon Cup Will Kick Off Tomorrow

Tencent Games will be kicking off the Ring Of Elysium 2019 Amazon Cup this weekend as players will fight for a 60k prize pool. A bit of a twist this time around as streamers Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek will serve as the wildcard team captain for the United States team, while Sebastian Hans Eli "Forsen" Fors will do the same for Europe in the Regional Championships. We have more info on the tourney below, but you can watch it all starting tomorrow morning on the World Showdown of Esports (WSOE) Twitch channel.

During the Regional Championships, the 20 three-player teams will fight for a piece of $30,000 in available prizes for each region, with third place taking home $5,000, second place $10,000 and first place $15,000. Throughout the qualifiers, teams have also had the chance to win a variety of weekly rewards and incentives, including Twitch accessories, Twitch clothing, Gaming PCs, Steam gift cards and Twitch Bits.

"Everyone at Aurora Studios is pumped for the first Regional Championships and to see the exciting conclusion," said Ethan Yu, Head of Aurora Studio. "We believe Ring Of Elysium has great potential as an esport, and we are excited to see pros like Shroud and Forsen put it to the test in front of gaming fans everywhere."

To reach the Regional Championships, players have competed in five weeks of online qualifiers starting on July 2 through August 6, in a new Ring Of Elysium game mode—Ashen Eye, a mini battle royale arena where 15 three-player teams compete to survive on the map. Regional Championships will amplify the competition, including 20 three-player teams on the field fighting for top prizes.
