The ongoing saga of who might be taking on the mantle of the Dark Knight for Warner Bros. Pictures upcoming The Batman film from director Matt Reeves continues, with a new report suggesting that both the rumored for sure Bruce Wayne Robert Pattinson is currently screen testing along with the continually rumored other favorite, Nicholas Hoult.
Umberto Gonzales of The Wrap says the screen tests are happening now, and that the suspects these tests include full costume (aka the Batsuit) since the wardrobe department would need a good long lead time to really get the look dialed in.
BATMAN UPDATE: Robert Pattinson & Nicholas Hoult are screen testing for the role. I suspect they're screen testing in the Batsuit because Wardrobe Department will need full wardrobe test. Additionally, the film will now start production in Q1 2020.🦇 pic.twitter.com/eekafrqomL

The tweet also reports that filming on the production is scheduled to start sometime in 2020, specifically in “Q1 2020 to give the studio time to get the script and casting right,” according to the Gonzales.
