Square Enix may have canceled the Final Fantasy XV A New Dawn DLC series comprising of episodes Noctis, Aranea, and Lunafreya, but the stories will continue in a novel called The Dawn of the Future. The DLC were cancelled around the same time that Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata left to start his own development studio, however, fans can still find out how those DLC episodes would have turned out thanks to the book.

In honor of the novel's launch on the Square Enix Japan store, the publisher released a new bit of artwork on twitter to accompany the announcement.

Square also included a message thanking fans for their dedication over the years which reads (courtesy of Twinfinite), "The fact that we've come so far is definitely thanks to all the fans. Thank you very much for your continued support of Final Fantasy XV. From the whole development team, thank you very much. From now on, please watch over Noctis and the gang who recieved a new ending."

While the novel is currently only available in Japanese, it is possible an English translation will be released eventually.
