WB Games Pulls Mortal Kombat 11 Release in Indonesia

Players in Indonesia are going to have to go without Mortal Kombat 11 for a while as WB Games officially announced they've canceled the release in their country. The news came from Twitter after an Indonesian fan asked the company's support feed if they had canceled the game, and here was the response he received.

While the company didn't go into detail as to what laws they might be breaking, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Indonesia has a very strict policy against graphic violence in media. Pretty safe to assume a fatality with Shao Khan using his hammer to golf swing an opponent's head through their rectum qualifies. Whether or not Mortal Kombat 11 will be made available is pretty much a decision on WB Games' part as they would need to request NetherRealm to remove fatalities and tone the game content down, which it seems co-creator Ed Boon is strongly against based on prior interviews.
