Revisiting World Of Horror From Ysbryd Games at PAX East 2019

Back at PAX West 2018, we got to try out World Of Horror from Ysbyrd Games for about five minutes. The game was so intriguing, we had to go back at PAX East. If you're not familiar with this game, it takes on an old '80s PC kind of format where you make choices and those affect how you continue to play the game. The last time around we were brutally killed off by a ghost wielding a pair of scissors. This time around we figured out how to use the combat system to equip a bat and defend ourselves, which made things go by much smoother than before.

World Of Horror has you dealing with some truly gory and terrifying ideas that if you actually dealt with them in the real world, you would freak out in a heartbeat. It's the kind of game that if you enjoy suspense and RPG elements, you'll be right at home. If you also dig older games like Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego, back when video games used what few assets they had to their fullest potential on a black-and-white background, this will be a wonderful throwback. The game is planned for a 2019 release on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, we just don't have a firm date yet. This is one we need around Halloween in a dark room, so here's hoping we get it before the Fall.
