Joyce Chin Admitted to Chicago Hospital With Arthur Adams, Not at C2E2

It should have been a weekend of celebration, after Joyce Chin and Gail Simone's Vampirella hit the latest Playboy Magazine for its Free Speech issue.

But on the way to C2E2, Joyce Chin, suffered an aneurysm and collapsed at Chicago Airport after flying in from San Francisco, and also fractured her ankle during the fall when she blacked out. She had emergency brain surgery to treat her aneurysm Friday morning.

Due to the emergency surgery, her husband Arthur Adams also canceled his appearance at C2E2. However, his assistant has set up Arthur Adams and Joyce Chin's booth in Artist Alley, selling art prints, sketchbooks and original art all weekend long while Arthur is staying with Joyce in the ICU.

Compounding the situation, Arthur Adams doesn't drive so he and their young daughter's mobility is limited. They will be staying at the Chicago hospital for the next two weeks until Joyce is stable enough to travel back to California. She tells us that she's lost no cognitive or motor functioning that they can find so far.

I am sure, if you know them, they would appreciate your warm feelings and sympathies.
