New Dark Phoenix Trailer Teases How Jean Becomes the Phoenix

A new trailer for Dark Phoenix has appeared online. It appears to have been posted by 20th Century Fox Signapore youtube channel and features some new footage we haven't seen before. The big one is that this trailer appears to show how Jean comes into contact with the Phoenix Force and why the X-Men are in space, to begin with.

The marketing for this movie is a little strange. They have willfully spoiled a huge death and now appear to be showing us a good portion of the first act. While that isn't usually a problem, the scenes that marketing uses aren't enough for you to figure out the exact beats of the story, but with this footage we can do exactly that. The reaction to the previous trailer was mixed, to say the least, and it's going to be interesting to see if there is an audience left for what could be the swan song of the X-Men franchise.
