'Bond 25' Rami Malek Casting Rumors Shaken, Not Stirred

Director Cary Joji Fukunaga is gearing up to tackle the 25th film in the James Bond film franchise, and there is much chatter in the wind as to who will be added to the cast. Earlier this month, a possible title appeared, with an interesting connection to the source material, Sir Ian Fleming's novels.

This possible working title could signal the return of Christoph Waltz as Blofeld, the character he played in Spectre, even though the actor said he was NOT coming back for Bond 25. The return of Léa Seydoux for Bond 25 also semi-signals that maybe some of those story threads from the 24th film in the franchise will appear in the next installment.

The current line of casting rumors include recent Best Actor Oscar winner Rami Malek to play the villain, as well as mentions of Billy Magnussen joining the film too. According to Variety, there are still some key "Bond Girl" roles needing to be cast, and possible character descriptions that again tie into previous Bond films.

Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, and Ben Whishaw  are all confirmed to return along side Daniel Craig, who will reportedly be retiring from the role following this outing.

It was announced earlier this month that due to rewrites, the film has been pushed back from the original release of February 14th, 2020 to April 8th, 2020.
