J.J. Abrams Confirms That Photography on Star Wars: Episode IX Has Wrapped

Well, that's it. Six and a half years after Lucasfilm was sold to Disney for a record amount of money, the first chapter in this new age of Star Wars has officially wrapped. Director J.J. Abrams took to Twitter to share a picture from the emotional final day on set.

The movie will now head into post-production and we can expect a ton of rumors about runtimes and what not to circulate for the next several months. The timing works out that we will likely see some footage at Star Wars Celebration in April. It might be unfinished footage, but they will likely show attendees something special and then release a teaser for the public.

Until then, I'm going to be a totally normal human being and not get emotional about this picture.

Star Wars: Episode IX, directed by J.J. Abrams, stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams.

It will be flying into theaters on December 20th, 2019.
