For Better or Worse, Old School Runescape Mobile is the Same Old Game

Old School RuneScape Mobile provides the version of RuneScape most people recall from memory. While the main MMO continues to be developed, the Old School version is absolutely the classic edition of the game, with old pixel graphics, limited customization, and incredibly limited controls. Which makes it rather ideal for mobile.

Sure, the graphics are still bad, even as far as mobile titles go, and the text can be a bit small to read on a cellphone, however the game has the right blend of simplicity and nostalgia that makes it a perfect candidate for mobile platforms.

The game is absolutely untouched aside from some different controls, which have been simplified to touch gestures and taps, which means that Old School RuneScape still has the same faults it always had. For better or worse, Old School RuneScape Mobile is the same exact game you remember, just portable, and with some bug fixes thrown in for kicks.

But there is a bonus: since Old School is the format used for the Deadman Tournament, its absolutely possible to get all the practice you need for the tournament on mobile now. You can even use the same account.

In fact, there's a chance you might be able to use your original RS account, should you still have access to the same email address. Which means you could, theoretically, pick up right where you left off way back in the day.

Old School RuneScape Mobile quickly became the most-downloaded version of RuneScape, and we can see why. It is very much a throwback worth playing at least once.
