Once upon a time, over forty years ago, Brian Bolland designed an advert for London comic book store Forbidden Planet.

I found this version in an old copy of Comics Media International from 1977 as the first store was first opening.

Now, Brian Bolland has paid homage to that original design with his exclusive retailer cover to Detective Comics #1000 for Forbidden Planet.
