Frederator, Animation Studio Behind Castlevania and Adventure Time, Lays Off Staff

Frederator Studios is one of the largest animation studios in North America, founded by MTV creative director and Hanna Barbera President Fred Seibert in 1997. It is the producer of animated TV shows such as Castlevania, Adventure Time, Bravest Warriors and Bee And Puppycat.

As of this week, Bleeding Cool has received the word that it has laid off up to 40% of their staff.

The layoff has been widespread and without explanation as to why those who stayed, stayed. For many, it appears random. That the news hasn't been reported seems to come down to Non-Disclosure Agreements as part of line-wide severance packages accepted by staff.

But LinkedIn listings give a few clues with a number of employees of Frederator, like whose job history suddenly ends this month, or has suddenly started at a new position, or has posted that they are looking for work.

Bleeding Cool has reached out to Frederator Studios for comment.
