Two comics out today, Venom #8 and Captain America #4. The first changing the rules of the Venom game.

The second, delving into the impact of Secret Empire (though still not touching on the Captain America Hydra doppelganger still very much imprisoned).

And with the presence of Selene still suggesting a future rejuvenation for Sharon Carter, the mutant psychic vampire in on hand to help with another project. And the revival of a mystery man…

Aleksander? Aleksander who?

Oh, General Aleksander Lukin, senior KGB figure who dealt with the Winter Soldier programme and had issues with Captain America and the Red Skull. But with whom the Red Skull managed to transfer his mind, and possess his body, as seen below.

Later, he was shot and the Red Skull transferred his mind out again, until eventually dying at the hands of the Hydra Captain America. But now Lupkin has been revived… and on the final page, a major reveal.

No, sorry, that’s Venom #7 again. And the revival of this body of Cletus Kasady, who was the previous host of Carnage. And last left by Nova in Ryker’s Island. And about to get a certain injection…

But as for General Lupkin?

Just as symbiotes stay with their hosts in one form or another, so the Red Skull seems to have stayed with Lupkin too…
