American Horror Story: Apocalypse Season 8, Episode 9 ‘Fire and Reign’ (End of Days 809! Live-Blog)

Welcome back to End of Days! Bleeding Cool’s American Horror Story: Apocalypse live-blog as we take a look at the penultimate episode of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk‘s FX horror anthology, ‘Fire and Reign.’

In last week’s episode, Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) had everything in place to put him down for good after taking out two warlock-traitor lackeys and his “Lady Macbeth” Mead (Kathy Bates). And then she blinked, reaching out her hand in good faith (some interesting irony there) to Michael “Do You Remember I’m The Antichrist?” Langdon (Cody Fern) to offer him a path to redemption (which you can see for yourselves again below). Her offer was not well received – and then she let him walk away.

As you can see from the preview below for ‘Fire and Reign,’ Langdon’s building up his forces to take this battle global – with help from “Mead v2.0.” All of which begs the question: What can Cordelia, the Coven, and the forces at her side do to stop an apocalypse we know happens?

Here’s a look back at Bleeding Cool’s review of last week’s ‘Sojourn;’ and in this essential scene from that same episode, Cordelia offers an olive branch to Michael – who responds as one would expect the Antichrist to respond:

Finally, here’s a friendly little flashback to the “simplier times” of the first season of American Horror Story – the one that started it all – Murder House:

Sarah PaulsonJessica LangeEmma Roberts, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Adina Porter, Leslie Grossman, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, and Stevie Nicks have returned to Murphy’s horrific universe. Joan Collins (Dynasty),  Cody Fern (House of Cards), Ashley Santos (We All Fall Down), and Kyle Allen (The Path) serve as new cast members for the season.
