Avengers 4: Captain America and Black Widow Will Have a "Harder Edge"

There are a lot of characters going through a lot of stuff in Avengers: Infinity War — so much that it can be hard to keep track of what everyone was doing. So Anthony and Joe Russo sat down with Wired and went through every single character’s motivation in the movie. However, while going through Black Widow’s arc, Joe Russo gave a little hint about what we can expect from Captain America and Black Widow in Avengers 4.

“It’s hardened all of them in a way. You can’t go on the run without it affecting you emotionally, so I think all of those characters — specifically the ones who survived Infinity War, Cap and Natasha — you will see them with a much much harder edge.”

Two out of four of the Secret Avengers, Scarlet Witch and Falcon, vanished, and the Russos explain that that group got pretty close in the two years that passed. The Snap is something that’s going to effect a lot of people in very profound ways, and both of them shutting down a little makes sense on a character level.

Untitled Avengers Movie / Avengers 4, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, stars Robert Downey Jr., Josh Brolin, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Chris Pratt, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Wong, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Sean Gunn, Brie Larson, Evangeline Lilly, Paul Rudd, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ty Simpkins. It will be released on May 3rd, 2019.
