BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is Getting New DLC and Characters This Month

Among the announcements that Arc System Works had at EVO 2018, we got to find out that BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be getting some new characters. During their presentation, the company revealed some new DLC that will be coming out in North America starting tomorrow, August 6th, and with it comes nine new characters across three different video game series who will be joining the game in battle. Those characters include Akihiko, Labrys, Mitsuru (Persona 4 Arena), Izayoi, Mai Natsume, Nine the Phantom (BlazBlue), Merkava, Mika, and Yuzuriha (Under Night In-Birth).

Looking at the new additions to BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, it's kind of mixed bag of "that's really awesome" and "wait… why?" for all nine of them. Regardless of how you may feel about some of the characters and their inclusion in the series, it is a welcome breath of fresh air. The roster was starting to become a little stale and predictable with a few different meta pairings rising to the top. Now with a new batch of people to mix and match as partners and chain combos off of, this makes the game and future tournaments a little more interesting as we move forward into the next year of competition.
