A New Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog Story by Joss Whedon for 10th Anniversary

Announced by Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Firefly creator Joss Whedon during today's Hall H Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog 10th Anniversary Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Whedon is to write a Dr. Horrible one-shot comic for October.

With art by José Maria Beroy (Versus) and Sara Soler (Red & Blue), and colors by Dan Jackson, and covers by Fábio Moon and Francesco Francavilla.

The original webseries from 2008 saw Dr. Horrible played by Neil Patrick Harris as an aspiring supervillain; Captain Hammer, played by Nathan Fillion as his nemesis; and Penny, played by Felicia Day, a charity worker and love rival.

In Dr. Horrible: Best Friends Forever, the time temptress herself, Hourglass, is in dire trouble and turns to that team of famous best friends, Dr. Horrible and Captain Hammer, who are best friends, yes they've always been best friends why are you giving me that look?

"What a pleasure it is to be back in this world, putting words into these characters' mouths and saying, 'say these words, mouths' and then they do," Whedon is quoted as saying. "Each member of the Hammerverse—sorry, Doc, that's what it's called, he registered it—is a delightful, bigger than life character, but more importantly, on a very human level, they're idiots. You will thrill to their adventures and weep for their pain, or maybe not weep, maybe just, I don't know, itchy nose. Based on Actual Events."

It is also worth pointing out that at a previous San Diego Comic-Con three years ago, Whedon announced another comic, Twist, that was never published — but may share some DNA with his new HBO TV series The Nevers.

However, Dark Horse are a lot more confident this time. Dr. Horrible: Best Friends Forever goes on sale November 14th.

That's Dark Horse, not Bad Horse. The distinction is an important one, okay?
