Xaviant Games is Pulling The Culling 2 from All Consoles

Last week the folks at Xaviant Games posted a rather depressing and cryptic tweet about their company following the release of The Culling 2. The short version is that the company had more than their fair share of issues leading up to the game's release, and even after it came out, the game itself has seen more than a few issues. One week later, we officially know that one of the tough choices they decided to make was to pull the battle royale game from all outlets and issue refunds to all players.

In a video message to fans which we have here, the company's Director of Operations, Josh Van Veld, explained the situation in detail with as much as he could reveal without going into the finer behind-the-scenes details. Van Veld addresses the elephant in the room by admitting the fans didn't really ask for a sequel, as the playerbase was still enjoying the original more than the sequel. In fact, according to Steam's own records, the highest player count the game ever saw was four players. It looks like the direction they'll be moving to from here is to double-down efforts on the original and help bring people back.
