We got our first look at the official costume for Shazam! today but we are also continueing to get more and more details about the movie. The main ones have to do with Dwayne Johnson and his role as Black Adam. Johnson is currently doing press for Skyscraper but recently confirmed to Syfy Wire that he isn’t appearing in Shazam!

“I’m not in that one,” Johnson said. “It’s Shazam and Black Adam and, with the way the DC universe works, we should — in theory — meet up on the big screen. But who knows.”

Black Adam

There is still a chance that he isn’t telling the truth and trying to to make sure that he doesn’t get anyone’s hopes up. If Black Adam does make a cameo appearance it would be huge and one of those things Warner Bros. would (hopefully) not spoil. That being said considering the restructuring at DC and that we haven’t had any movement on the project it wouldn’t be surprising if Johnson is telling the truth.

Summary: A boy is given the ability to become an adult superhero in times of need with a single magic word.

Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg, stars Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Asher Angel, and will be written by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke. It will be released on April 5th, 2019.
