A Lone Star List recipient, Summer of the Mariposas is a story of children led by La Llorona herself, the misunderstood, weeping ghost, on a journey of hardship and magic. Professors Guadalupe Garcia McCall and David Bowles discuss El Verano de las Mariposas, their new Spanish translation of McCall’s book Summer of the Mariposas, a magical Mexican American retelling of The Odyssey about four sisters traveling from Texas through Mexico.
