Jumping from one project to the next isn't that big of a deal for Tyrant's Keon Alexander – but we're about to see if he can handle jumps just a little further than that as the actor is set for what's descrtibed as a "heavily recurring role" in YouTube Red's upcoming action drama series Impulse. Directed by Doug Liman (Bourne Identity), the series pilot was written by Jeffrey Lieber (Lost, Lucifer), Jason Horwitch (Marvel's Luke Cage) and Gary Spinelli (Stash House); with Liman taking on directorial responsibilities.

Based on Steven Gould's "Jumper" series of novels, Alexander's Dominick is a teleporter who has been on the run for years after escaping a laboratory experimenting on him and his teleportation abilities. Lauren LeFranc (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will serve as series showrunner; with Liman and Gene Klein (Covert Affairs) executive producing  for Universal Cable Productions and studio-based Hypnotic.

Impulse is based on the third novel in author Steven Gould's "Jumper" series and focuses on 16-year-old Henry (Hasson), a rebellious teenager who feels disconnected from everyone around her and longs to escape the confines of her small-town life. Her life soon changes when she discovers that she has the ability to teleport anywhere she wants — and that she's not alone. Unfortunately for Henry, there are those who see her powers as a curse… and will do anything to stop her.

YouTube Red's Impulse also stars Maddie Hasson (Mr. Mercedes), Missi Pyle (Another Period), Daniel Maslany (Murdoch Mysteries), Sarah Desjardins (Van Helsing), Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue) and Craig Arnold (Heartland); with David James Elliott (Secrets and Lies) set for a recurring role.

Liman is no stranger to Gould's universe, having directed 20th Century Fox's adaptation of Jumper (the first book in the series) in 2008. Starring Hayden Christiansen and with a supporting cast that included Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell, Rachel Bilson, Diane Lane and Michael RookerJumper would gross over $220 million globally.
