Diamond Tells Retailers That Comic Called 'The Pervert' Has 'Explicit Content'

Diamond Comic Distributors has sent the following message to comic book retailers that the upcoming graphic novel

Please be advised that due to explicit content, the Final Order Cut-Off Date for Image's Pervert OGN (MR) has been extended to Sunday 25th March to give retailers additional time to evaluate their orders in light of this information

Retailers are encouraged to bear the nature of this title in mind when ordering and when displaying it in their stores.

And, you know, it's actually called The Pervert. Not the kind of comic you might expect to be sold to a young child.

But if you want to see for yourself, has an exhibition of artwork from the comic currently on display at Orbital Comics in London. There are a couple of black bars on some of the original artwork on display, but even they look relatively tame.

It may be that the anthropomorphic art may confuse some, but this is a marketplace that has seen Omaha The Cat Dancer, Grandville, Hepcats and plenty of furry erotica comics, so it shouldn't be that out of kilter.

The Pervert is published on April 25th. The Orbital Comics exhibition is up for another week.
