[RUMOR] World War Z 2 Production Has Been Pushed Back

Did anyone else remember that there is a sequel to World War Z coming out? There is, and apparently it looks like it could be delayed because of production issues. Yesterday it was announced that Brad Pitt has signed on to star in the latest Quentin Tarantino movie. While most people were focused on that, it does appear that this could hurt the production of World War Z 2, at least according to Variety's Justin Kroll. This is by no means a confirmed statement, but the timeline does line up.

[RUMOR] World War Z 2 Production Has Been Pushed Back

David Fincher has signed on to do the movie and, last we heard, he was having trouble getting a story together. The second season of Mindhunter is also set to film for a majority of 2018 (April to December) so how much time is Fincher going to have to make this sequel?

It currently doesn't have a release date after J.A. Bayona left the production back in 2016. No one seems to be in a huge rush to make this movie happen either. While the first one did well, it also had a huge budget of $190 million because they had to reshoot the entire ending. Paramount is likely looking to avoid that for the sequel and are letting Fincher take his time. The zombie craze isn't going to last forever; if The Walking Dead can't keep viewers, is anyone going to care about a World War Z sequel years after the first one? We'll just have to see.
