Black Lightning is taking the week off — its first since the series debuted back on January 16th. In the five episode so far they’ve built up a pretty good universe around the character of Jefferson Pierce (Cress Williams), school principal by day and costumed vigilante by night. His family is his first priority, including his ex-wife Lynn (Christine Adams) and his two daughters Anissa (Nafessa Williams) and Jennifer (China Ann McClain). He is helped on the streets by his old friend Peter Gambi (James Remar) and sort of by Inspector Bill Henderson (Damon Gupton). He faces off against the 100 Gang and their leaders Tobias Whale (Marvin ‘Krondon’ Jones III) and the mysterious Lady Eve (Jill Scott).
The CW has released a new 360 video for the show that features Black Lightning, Jefferson, Anissa and Jennifer standing on the roof and giving their thoughts about Black Lightning both as a hero and as their father. At this point in the series, they don’t know that Jefferson is Black Lightning, but this video they seem to. It’s kind of a different use of the 360 filming. Usually we see this with set visits so fans can look around. A 360 view of Gambi’s work area under his tailor shop would’ve been interesting… but then again, we might see some things there that we’re not supposed to yet. Gambi sure has a lot of secrets.
Black Lightning returns February 27th at 9 p.m. on the CW.
