DC Comics Changes Free Comic Book Day DC Super Hero Girls Title to All-Ages

We mentioned the other day that it seemed as if DC Comics had planned something else for Free Comic Book Day for 2018. A special secretive project, rated Teen.

Then it was announced as a reprint chapter of the upcoming new DC Super Hero Girls original graphic novel. An all-ages comic for Free Comic Book Day that was still officially labelled as suitable for Teens.

Then DC Nation #0 was announced, by Brian Michael Bendis, Scott Snyder, and Tom King showing off their stuff, for 25 cents. And one got the feeling that maybe, just maybe, this was the comic originally planned for Free Comic Book Day. As they did with DC Divergence three years previously, that had Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's Robo-Bunny Batman, as well as Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok's launch of the Darkseid War and Gene Luen Yang's DC Comics debut with artist John Romita, Jr on Superman.

It's a theory.

Anyway, we made the point that Diamond and Free Comic Book Day were still labelling DC Comics Super Hero Girls as teen-suitable, even going out of their way to put it in a list of which books were suitable for who.

Shortly afterwards, DC Comics updated their Previews listing to state that, yes, the book was All-Ages appropriate after all.
