DC Comics Replace Damaged Copies Of Supergirl #16 With a Stanley Lau Cover After Damage Reports

Stanley “Artgerm” Lau‘s covers for Supergirl (and probably for the upcoming Mera: Queen Of Atlantis) have become quite the focus for collectors of late.

No more so than for Supergirl #16, which seemed to get disproportionate reports of damage for his variant cover… such as this thread from Facebook.

Well, DC Comics are doing something, Rick. They are providing new copies of the variant comic free for every retailer who ordered it, at no charge. The replacement copies are set to arrive in stores on January 3rd. Retailers are asked to destroy any remaining copies of the original printing that they still may have in stock, and to accept returns from their customers who want to switch to a nicer looking copy.

“PLAIN SIGHT” part two! Public pressure runs high and there’s no debate-you’re either for Supergirl or against her! As the people of National City divide over their feelings on Supergirl, the teen hero finds it increasingly hard to balance her daily life with her role as her city’s protector. With the DEO and fellow intern Ben Rubel closing in on her secret identity and the added pressures of Catco’s internship, the last thing on Supergirl’s mind is an upcoming school dance that’s more trouble than expected.
