'Destiny 2' PC Players Are Getting Banned For Certain Programs

Be careful what you use while playing Destiny 2 on PC, as several players have learned the hard way that Bungie is looking for pretty much any kind of specialized program to drop the ban hammer. Several reports have been going up on Reddit that players are being banned for specific software, and we're not talking the hacking or cheating kind. OBS, Dischord, XSPLIT, and Mumble are some of the most popular programs that have been listed as the reasoning, as Bungie's servers judge the software running alongside their program as a possible cheat program and are merciless when it comes to laying down the law, even though none of those programs are used for cheating.

Worse yet, unlike systems in games like World Of Warcraft or Overwatch, there's no system in place for people to fight or dispute being banned, so for many who were simply streaming the game or talking with other players on a dedicated voice system, they are now out $60 for doing nothing more than using another piece of software that interacted with the game in some fashion. We'll see if Bungie responds to the outcry of unreasonable banning, but considering the haphazard start Destiny 2 has already experienced on PC, that may be some time away.
