Welcome To "Jon Snow Nightwing" From Today's DC Metal #3 (SPOILERS)

People should find lots to love in today's Dark Nights: Metal #3 from Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion and FCO Plascencia.

Signs that writer Scott Snyder has been hanging out with Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie a little too much?

By putting chords at the centre of the comic book. Well, it is Metal…

And they do have the look down.

There's a flashback to the theories from Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely's Earth 2 series that have the reason Justice League couldn't win in that world were down to the narrative nature of the reality their story took place in. That seems to have travelled over to Metal, with these Batman-based interlopers from the Dark Multiverse having their own rules of reality which they have brought with them, dragged through by the dark god and Bruce Wayne-obsessive Barbatos.

And the story behind the Doomsday-based Batman, the result of Batman's genetic experiment to defeat Superman, ending up being genocidal.

Just going to throw this out there, Barbatos' batobsession formed by him also being some kind of Bruce Wayne as well – maybe one who became Darkseid…?

We have DC Superhero cocktails from the Oblivion bar,

But possibly the most meme-worthy moment may be an editorial note regarding a rather stubbly and slightly-but-not-really-unkempt Nightwing.

Because, you know, he's had a day of it. And winter is coming.

Jon Snow Nightwing! Strike up the band!

Could DC Comics have an equivalent phrase?

"You Bastard Nightwing" shirts please. Come on, you know it makes sense.
