Aladdin Has Started Shooting, Will Smith Posts A Behind-The-Scenes Picture

Disney’s Aladdin remake has started filming according to star Will Smith posted a picture of the cast together. We don’t know that much about the Aladdin remake so far. Disney is in the middle of remaking all of their classic movies into live action and this another one they’ve got lined up. It’s not surprising that these movies are going forward quickly. Beauty and the Beast is still the highest grossing movie of the year. These reboots aren’t going away anytime soon.

Now that Aladdin is shooting we can get a decent estimate on the release date. Disney has an open release date for a “Untitled Disney Live-Action Fairy Tale” on August 3, 2018 that Aladdin could probably take but that might be cutting it a little close. There is another open release date on August 9, 2019 that says “Untitled Disney Live-Action Project”. November 8, 2019 is another Live Action Fairy Tale release date. If we looked at those dates the two August dates are probably the most likely. Now that the movie is shooting we can expect a release date to get announced soon.

Aladdin, directed by Guy Ritchie, stars Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Will Smith, Marwan Kenzari, and Numan Acar. There is currently no release date.
