Joss Whedon Is Getting A Writing Credit On Justice League

Warner Bros already sent out their fall preview press kit two weeks ago. So members of the media were surprised when another one showed up in their inboxes. As various media outlets began to dig through one major change stood out; apparently Joss Whedon is getting a writers credit on Justice League.

Here is the information that they sent us:

Joss Whedon

Director: Zack Snyder

Writers: Story by Chris Terrio & Zack Snyder, Screenplay by Chris Terrio and Joss Whedon
Based on characters from DC Entertainment, Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster

Producers: Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns

Executive Producers: Jim Rowe, Wesley Coller, Curtis Kanemoto, Chris Terrio, Ben Affleck

Cast: Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Raymond Fisher, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller

Action Adventure. Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Ever since the horrible tragedy happened to the Snyder family and they had to step away from the movie the rumors about how much involvement Whedon will have has been going up and down. There are some people saying it's going to be significant, some saying it's just pick-ups and not a big deal, but getting a writers credit is a big deal. That means the draft was submitted to the WGA and they determined that the contributions were big enough that they warranted a credit. You don't get a credit for tweaking some dialogue.

What does this mean for Justice League? At this point who knows. Warner Bros is going to continue to let this PR machine spin until the movie comes out in November.
