Will Arrow Season Six Give Us Deathstroke's Son, Jericho?

Slade Wilson (Manu Bennett) made his return at the end of Arrow season 5 and we know that not only will he survive Lian Yu, but he will be back a few episodes later for a two-part story arc. What will the arc be about? Most likely about Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) fulfilling his promise to help Slade find his son Joe. It was the deal he offered up to get Slade to help him with Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra). Slade held up his end of the deal, so it will be Oliver's turn. And according to TVLine, the CW is currently looking for an Australian actor to play, 'introverted, moody and naturally athletic teenager." It's a guest starring role.

Jericho

Why is this important? Because in the comics, Slade Wilson has three children: Joseph, Rose and Grant. Rose and Grant both take on the persona of Ravager at points in their lives and we've basically met Ravager on Arrow, but as Isabel Rochev (Summer Glau). Joseph on the other hand is the first child we meet in the comics, back in the 80's, and he is a big part of the Teen Titans story by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. Joseph is a mute who takes the name Jericho and has the ability to possess someone, literally taking over their body. He joins with the Titans when he learns that Deathstroke has taken on a contract to kill the young team. He started out as a hero, but has had trouble with insanity and being possessed by a demon… because comics… and has been a villain as well.

There are some interesting things that the Arrow writers can use there if they want to, but Jericho seems like a pretty complicated character to get into especially with his powers. If they do follow his character closely, it will be the second non-talking comic character to debut this fall with Black Bolt appearing in Marvel's Inhumans. I know Black Bolt (Anson Mount) isn't mute by birth, but by necessity… but he's still non-talking. Since they're doing a two-part story, I'm guessing we'll see some of what Joe Wilson / Jericho can do in that time… but maybe not all of what we've seen in the comics.

Arrow returns October 12th on the CW.
