Schwarzenegger Says Terminator 6 Starts Shooting Next Year, Then Conan

Do we need another Terminator movie? Did anyone actually see Terminator: Gensys or remember that it happened? Well, the film studio powers that be decided we need another one, and star Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed to The Playlist that Terminator 6 starts shooting next year.

Schwarzenegger Says Terminator 6 Starts Shooting Next Year, Then Conan

"In March next year, I am shooting 'Terminator 6,' James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a 'Conan.' "

This isn't that surprising since the Terminator brand is still worth something and Schwarzenegger returning to both of the franchises that made him a household name in the age of nostalgia is expected. Cameron returning to Terminator was announced earlier this year as he gets certain rights to the franchise back in 2019. Cameron might be a robot himself, considering he has four Avatar movies to shoot on top of a Terminator movie, even if directing duty has gone to Tim Miller. If they are shooting next year, we can look forward to a Terminator movie coming out in 2019 or 2020.

The last we heard about the Conan movie it was dead in the water but at Cannes earlier this year Schwarzenegger confirmed that the movie is still happening and being rewritten. They must be pretty far along if they plan to start shooting after Terminator 6.

The third series that Schwarzenegger is returning to is Triplets; the sequel to the 1988 hit Twins. The movie has been rumored for years, which will reunite him with Danny DeVito and bring in Eddie Murphy, and will be directed by Ivan Reitman. Schwarzenegger said:

"In the fall I start the shooting on the comedy 'Triplets' with Eddie Murphy and Danny DeVito."

Schwarzenegger is pulling a Harrison Ford and returning to all of his previous franchises for a victory lap. As long as they're better movies than Genisys.
