Could King Of The Hill Be Coming Back?

King of the Hill, the 13-season animated series from Greg Daniels and Mike Judge, might just find its way back to Fox.

King of the Hill

Dana Walden, Fox Chairman, told reporters today:

"We have had preliminary conversations with Greg and Mike, and I would like to explore that. We had very preliminary conversations. Given what's going on in the country, I think they have a point of view how those characters would respond, but again, it was one meeting and I hope to revisit it. The meeting was probably two months ago, two and a half months ago. They're both very busy and it was really just a first exploratory, 'Are you excited about this? Is there potential in a future?' and they were both excited about it, but they're working on a lot of different things individually so it's about finding time."

The series centers on a propane salesman in Alren, Texas debuted in 1997 and featured the voices of Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon and Johnny Hardwick. The show focused on the every day life of Hank Hill, his family and friends…and a lot of beer-drinking. Unlike a lot of other popular animated comedies, the series was surprisingly grounded in reality.

King of the Hill was one of Fox's longest-running animated comedies, behind the still-airing The Simpsons and Family Guy. It ran from 1997 to 2010 and won two Emmys while it was on.
