Fandemic Tour – John Macaluso, Ex-CEO Of Wizard World, Launches New Brand Of Comic Cons With First Show In Houston In September
John Macaluso used to be CEO of Wizard World until he resigned in April last year. He told us then that he intended to remain in the industry and today he has made that a reality, with Fandemic.
Fandemic Tour is the latest launch of a chain of comic cons, beginning with a three-day show at the NRG Center in Houston on September 15, 16, and 17, the same weekend as the Heroes And Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey/New York and a week before Baltimore Comicon and Wizard Word Madison. It is also the first comic con to have a name made up of wordplay based on an unstoppable infectious disease. He tells Bleeding Cool,
So here is the long and short of it. I truly enjoyed what I did at my former company and people really liked the shows that my team and I created. And I missed that so I have decided to go back into the live event business. My goal is to produce high quality events in the pop culture or, as some people say, the Comic con world .
The name of the our new show is The Fandemic tour. The first show will be in Houston at the NRG center on September 15, 16, and 17. We plan on bringing well-known celebrities including Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Bruce Campbell, John Bernthal, Michael Rooker, and the like. There will be many more guest announcements in the days and weeks to come. We are also including a really exciting lineup of creators including Rob Prior, Michael Golden, Phil Ortiz, Rags Morales, Tom Cook, and of course, the zombie king himself Arthur Suydan. Again there will be many more creators to be announced.
