Someone Built An MMO Into Minecraft

wynncraft

You'll never have to choose between playing Minecraft and your favorite MMO ever again. Wynncraft is a fully functional MMO built on a Minecraft server and has the usual MMO features like quests, leveling, guilds, bosses, and it all takes place on an enormous map that's around 4000 x 5500 blocks in size. The game's description is a thing of beauty; it's so damn simple while also telling you very, very little about the project itself:

"Wynncraft is the largest MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Role-Playing Game) in Minecraft. It's a free to play game that requires an internet connection and a Minecraft account.

Start your journey from humble beginnings in the Wynn province and explore one of the biggest and most detailed custom maps in Minecraft. Play alongside your friends to gain experience and fall into the immersive world of Wynncraft to become the strongest warrior across the 4 provinces!"

Wynncraft's development team has been working on the game full-time for about four years now, and it's fully free to play as long as you have a copy of Minecraft ready (the team is able to make enough money off selling in-game items to pay for the game's servers). Wynncraft isn't the first MMO to be made within Minecraft, but it certainly is one of the largest, and it's completely functional, which is impressive as all hell.

If you're still on the fence, well, Wynncraft has its own trailers showing off updates of the game — because you don't pour that much money into a project for four years and then not go show it off properly.

The latest update, Corkus, added a whole new island, new dungeons, new quests, and a whole lot more. Check out the trailer for the Corkus update to Wynncraft below.
