The Valiant Validated Signature Series – the publisher's line of limited edition, signed issues, "issued and authenticated by Valiant itself" – will return for Secret Weapons #1 on June 28th, the first issue of the hotly tipped new series from Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer and artist Raul Allen.

The new Secret Weapons #1 Valiant Validated Signature Series edition will feature the signature of Heisserer himself along with an official VVSS embossed seal on the cover, and include a Certificate of Authenticity signed and witnessed by Valiant's Fred Pierce and Dinesh Shamdasani. The number of copies produced will be limited to qualifying orders placed for the issue by retailers at FOC.

The original VVSS series debuted in 1993 and adorned some of Valiant's most high-profile releases of the era. To this day, they remain among the most collected and sought-after of the original Valiant books for collectors.

Given that Valiant is touting Secret Weapons #1 as its next big release of 2017 after the recent debut of X-O Manowar #1 – which racked up an impressive 90,000 copies, according to reports – does this special treatment indicate that the publisher is eyeing Heisserer and Allen's new series as its next Top 10 contender?

Shhh, it's a secret…
